Google cross-platform research findings

A new study conducted by Google and research partners reveals how we conduct online tasks across platforms, beginning on one device but completing on another.



Small screen portable devices seem to be the most popular for initiating activity, but the least amount of time per session is spent on them and often it's subsequently picked up and continued on a larger device.

So this could mean that while our total content experience perhaps doesn’t need to be designed for a smartphone experience, at least the initial part of it should be, and that part should be integrated with how that content might be used on other devices.
