Blog eyetracking - Nielsen's findings

Jakob Nielsen has recently conducted eyetracking of corporate blogs to help inform a forthcoming writing for the web seminar. As with ordinary websites, overwhelming the user at the outset is the key thing to avoid.

So here goes Mr Nielsen; I'll give it a try...

Nielsen recommends showing blog article summaries rater than full posts, enabling the visitor to get a broader overview. Not everyone has the same level of interest, so the chances of engagement are higher if you can show introductions to more posts.

The eyetracking screenshots across different blog layouts are worth a look too.
