Bad link & menu labelling - McGovern

A nice, quick article in which Gerry McGovern rails against the useless, meaningless labels that find their way onto our websites. Catch-all terms that have no meaning to the website user.

He's talking about "Quick links", "Useful links", "Tools", "Resources", "FAQ" and so on.

Made me smile as it reminded me of an administrator I once worked with who felt very strongly that all our website content should be put into one of two categories from the homepage: "Information" or "Data".

Worth a quick read to remind yourself just how bad some labels can be and why.
